Gian Marco is a successful songwriter from Peru and has won awards such as the Latin Grammy and others; a “Star” in the Latin American music business.
He published this year its eleventh studio album called "Dias Nuevos" (Eng. Last Days) with great successful .  But GianMarco is not only a singer and songwriter of his own music, he also  writes music for other artists as well such as Gloria Estefan and Marc Anthony.
 

GianMarco keeps working with great dedication as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in Peru. In 2007, he gave a great benefit concert to support the victims of the devastating earthquake in Peru.
Gianmarco is a happy peruvian; he loves the traditional food and music with its originality and the typical instruments like the charango, a small stringed instrument that resembles a small guitar.

La Autoridad Autónoma del Colca (AUTOCOLCA), ha realizado una ceremonia  el día 4 de enero en el auditorio del Museo Municipal  “PREMIOS TURISMO COLCA 2012".

En este acto se ha hecho un reconocimiento en la categoría de "Agencia de Viajes y Tour Operadores"  a GIARDINO TOURS,  por impulsar  el TURISMO RESPONSABLE EN EL VALLE DEL COLCA.

 Premio plasmado en un plato recordatorio.

 The Responsible  travel industry has many challenges to face. We were motivated to see that sustainability was almost on everyone’s agenda, which proves that Travel industry is taking the issues seriously and making an important step for a positive impact.

 In the Event Peru received the “Best Stand for Doing Business – Peru (LA300) award.

Judges said there was plenty of business being done on this stand, as its design was amenable to meetings and had lots of open space. Also, the way this stand was slatted and colourful stood out for the judges.

“You felt like you’d like to do business here,” said one judge.

“Está probado a nivel mundial que la arqueología y el turismo puede resultar una industria incluso más rentable que la petrolera o la automotriz, que no daña al medio ambiente, que no afecta la vida humana. Es un recurso que es de beneficio social y económico y que no hace daño a nadie”, refiere Shady.

Caral, ubicada a 206 kilómetros al norte de Lima, tiene una antigüedad de 5.000 años, lo cual la hace contemporánea a civilizaciones como la mesopotámica o la egipcia. Es el asentamiento más importante de los 18 identificados a lo largo del valle bajo y medio de Supe. Fue el núcleo de todo el estado conformado en la zona norcentral del Perú. La sociedad duró aproximadamente 1.000 años y fue un foco de expansión de conocimiento para las posteriores culturas que se desarrollaron en el Perú y el resto de países andinos.

En Caral se distinguen dos zonas. Una correspondía a la elite y en ella se pueden observar construcciones piramidales, plazas circulares hundidas, espacios de congregación pública y residencias de la nobleza y funcionarios de la sociedad. La otra zona es la periférica, donde se agruparon numerosas viviendas. Su economía fue agropesquera e introdujeron la elaboración de mallas hechas a base de algodón para la pesca de anchovetas, su principal alimento debido a su tamaño, facilidad para pescarlo y para su deshidratación. En esta civilización no se encontró cerámica. Según la arqueóloga y antropóloga Ruth Shady, está demostrado que esto no es indicador para que una sociedad exista.

“Los indicadores de civilización son vida organizada, con autoridades, con regulaciones, con excedente de producción, con especialistas dedicados a diversas actividades, producción de conocimientos en ciencia y tecnología”, indica la investigadora.

SOCIEDAD SIN GUERRAS
El idioma quechua fue otra prueba de que Caral es la principal influencia para las posteriores culturas. Su gran expansión hizo que se convirtiera en una lengua de relación y que posteriormente el imperio incaico lo tomara como lengua oficial.

Este aspecto da a entender que las relaciones con otros territorios y culturas, no solo del Perú sino también de Ecuador, Bolivia, entre otros países, se dieron en condiciones de paz. “No hubo relaciones militares, ni de guerra ni bélicas. Lo importante es comprender cómo esta civilización se origina y su prestigio se va extendiendo a otras sociedades que fueron incluyendo diferentes aportes culturales. El modo de vivir tendió a una identificación comunitaria, colectiva, no vemos el desarrollo del individualismo, La sociedad tiene un mensaje de paz, de respeto e inclusión por los demás”, afirma Shady.

La música fue otro aspecto que influyó es la cohesión y colectividad que poseía la sociedad Caral. Se han hallado 37 cornetas hechas con huesos de animales y 32 flautas traversas agrupadas por diseños, elaborados con huesos de aves como el pelícano y el cóndor, además de antaras y otros instrumentos aún no identificados. “Cinco mil años después se sabe que la música es una actividad que ayuda al desarrollo de los 2 hemisferios cerebrales, el de la instrucción (izquierdo) y el de las emociones (derecho)… y eso ayuda a que haya un equilibrio y una armonía en su propia conducta”, explica la arqueóloga.

PRESERVACIÓN DEL PATRIMONIO CULTURAL
Hemos visto que Caral es una gran herencia para nuestro país. Al ser la ciudad más antigua de América y al saber que fue de gran influencia para nuestra historia, debe ser tan valorada como Machu Picchu u otras maravillas en el Perú y el mundo.

1. ISLAS BALLESTAS

En Pacaya Samiria, el lujo navega por el río. La empresa Aqua Expeditions surca el río Amazonas en lujosas embarcaciones en paseos de tres a siete noches. Cada parte del crucero tiene vistas panorámicas al paisaje. Se llega hasta Iquitos y según la época, salen del puerto de Nauta o de Iquitos.

Amazon one of the New 7Wonders!

Celebrations to mark the Official Inauguration of the Amazon as one of the New7Wonders of Nature will begin next Sunday, 12 August, in Iquitos the capital of the Loreto Region and the largest city in the Peruvian rainforest. Along with Peru, eight nations shared the candidacy of the Amazon in the New7Wonders of Nature campaign: Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela.

The unveiling of the specially-cast plaque listing the Amazon in the canon of the Official New7Wonders of Nature will take place on Monday, 13 August, at the Plaza 28 De Julio and the event will be accompanied by traditional ceremonies in the presence of regional leaders along with Bernard Weber, Founder-President of New7Wonders, and Jean Paul de la Fuente, Director of New7Wonders.

The election of the Amazon as one of the New7Wonders of Nature has significant implications for the region. “Sustainable development combined with environmental protection can bring great economic benefits to the Peruvian Amazon region since an unspoiled ecosystem is what 21st-century travellers are increasingly looking for,” said Bernard Weber, reflecting upon his most recent visit to Peru. “New7Wonders looks forward to working with the governments of the countries that share the Amazon to ensure that eco-tourism, along with forestry and biodiversity conservation, is placed at the very heart of regional economic development.”

The city of Iquitos offers one of the most striking benchmarks for measuring the enormous expanse of the Amazon in that it is located more than 3,000 km from the mouth of the river at Belém on the Atlantic Ocean but is still a major Amazon Basin port. Indeed, the Amazon Basin is so vast that Iquitos can be reached only by airplane or boat.

In 1996, an expedition team led by the Polish adventurer Jacek Palkiewicz confirmed that the source of the Amazon River was located at the foot of Mount Quehuisha in the Peruvian Andes. Palkiewicz returned last year to the 5,319 metre-high Quehuisha for the unveiling of a memorial that commemorates the 1996 discovery. “Here starts the Amazon, the greatest river in the world,” states the memorial inscription.

What begins at Mount Quehuisha ends up releasing an astonishing amount of water into the Atlantic Ocean. In the rainy season, the volume reaches 300,000 cubic metres a second. This means that the Amazon is responsible for almost 20 percent of the Earth’s fresh water entering the ocean.

On Tuesday, 14 August, a second New7Wonders of Nature plaque honouring the listing of the Amazon will be unveiled in Lima, the capital of Peru
